At the Full Council Meeting on Wednesday 8 February 2017, the Council voted unanimously in favour to seek the approval of the Secretary of State for Communities to apply for a PWLB loan of £240,000 up to 20 years for the purchase of new premises as we are leasing the current building. The annual loan repayments will come to around £16,882 on a reducing basis and will be paid from the precept budget. The level of Precept has not been increased in order to pay the cost of the loan. Your views and opinions on this matter are invited by 28th April 2017. More details regarding the purchase and reasons behind it can be found on the council website www.whittleseytc.com, under the tab of ‘Council Communication’ http://www.whittleseytc.com/council-matters/council-communications/

Early this year Whittlesey Town Council carried out a residents survey to find out if residents would like to route this cycle race through Whittlesey. The people of Whittlesey voted in favour of this.
We have been working with the Race Organisers since then to try and make this happen in 2017.
Unfortunately due to other changes imposed on them a lot of the budget set aside for Whittlesey has had to be used elsewhere. This means that the Organisers do not have enough cash for the race to come through Whittlesey in 2017.
I know that this will disappoint many people.
The Organisers remain committed to Whittlesey and will now work to try and make this happen in 2018.
